These are a few of my favorite published articles over the years.

The Eiger Obsession: This is a short excerpt from my book that appeared in the Banff Mountain Film Festival program for 2007. I presented my “Eiger Obsession” slide show at Banff that year.

Climbers & Farmers: In the early 1990s I edited Timberland's magazine called Elements. It featured short articles by some of the finest nature/outdoor/adventure writers in America. I wrote this very short story to introduce a theme issue on weather.

Barbacoa: A short story about Mark Jenkins' and my new route near Banff just before the film festival in November 2007. This appeared in the 2008 Canadian Alpine Journal.

A Bivouac With Steve Komito: One of the first articles I ever published, this story reflects on a climbing trip with the person who would become the best man at my wedding the following year (October 1981). It’s very youthful writing, but I hope it entertains Komito’s many friends. (Ten years later I became the editor of Summit magazine.)
